Welcome! My name is TuÄŸba and I am a classically-trained composer and piano instructor living in Carrboro, North Carolina. I started studying piano and voice at the age of 10 and graduated from Bilkent University School of Music and Performing Arts (in Ankara, Turkey) in 2004. I earned my Master's degree in Music Education in 2007, followed by my Master's Degree in Music Technology from Northwestern University in 2009. During my graduate studies I was trained in music pedagogy and completed advanced coursework in teaching methods. Prior to teaching private lessons, I worked as a Sound Designer at Namco Bandai Games America in San Jose, California.

As a piano teacher, my goal is to give my students a solid foundation of piano technique, along with the ability to read and write music in order to provide them with a life-long understanding and appreciation of music. With age-appropriate activities and a structured curriculum, I help my students become well-rounded musicians that can express themselves on the piano.

I am a current member of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) and its local chapters.
